'I didn't expect to see this side of you Sasuke.' Naruto commented cheekily.
'hn, what side?' Sasuke replied monotonously.
'Oh, I don't know…..your romantic side?’ he looked at Sasuke from the corner of his eyes and grinned brightly. The stoic Uchiha’s face was gradually changing color, a hint of red started to show through. The cold hearted bastard was blushing! To think that he, the soon to be Hokage of Konoha, would’ve lived to see this glorious day.
'What..are you…talking about?' The raven-head stuttered and turned away to avoid Naruto's gaze.
'Well…..Its not everyday that you get to see the powerful Uchiha-sama asking me, the future mighty Hokage, for advice on what Sakura-chan likes,’ Naruto continued ‘and I have to praise you for walking into that strawberry aisle.’ he shuddered at the thought of Sasuke’s fan girls’ ogling.
'I don't know….what you're talking about dobe…' Sasuke still refuse to meet his gaze.
'Let's not talk about the cake that you're planning to bake for her birthday and how you're going to fail, okay?' Naruto smirked at how Sasuke quivered.
A silence washed over the two men.
'I'm glad that you came back Sasuke,' Naruto broke the silence. 'I know that I, alone, cannot make her happy so I'm glad that she doesn't have to suffer anymore.' Sasuke listened to him silently.
'You know, I heard she almost got herself killed once,' the dark haired man flinched at the blonde's words. 'She got herself into a fight with an Atkatsuki, she came out of it victorious, but in the process of winning. she got herself stabbed by Sasori's poisonous sword, Tsunade ba-chan told me about it when we got back from Sand. I bet it left a pretty bad scar….'
Sasuke forced the bags of ingredients into Naruto’s hands and sprinted to Saukra’s apartment without another word, leaving Naruto dumbfounded.
'Sakura!' the raven head knocked powerfully on the pink haired's door. 'Sakura!'
'Calm down! I'm coming!' she shouted and opened the door seconds afterwards. Sasuke wasted no time and barged in without hesitation.
'Good afternoon to you to, Sasuke-kun…' she rolled her eyes and closed the wooden door. 'Are you hurt or somethi-?'
'Take off your shirt.' He stated, simply.
'Wh…What?' She stared at him dumbly and covered herself with her arms.
He took her hand forcefully and led her into her bedroom. Without any further comments, he pushed her down on the bed and turned her so that her back is facing him. Sakura rubbed her swollen hand and was shocked to hear him demand again, but this time, there was a desperation and need in his voice.
'Take off your shirt…..please….' he tilted his head down and held her shoulders lightly.
Sakura let out a long sigh and slowly rolled her top over her head and threw it on the floor. She was only left in her black, threaded cover up, and part of her back was bare.
'You better have a good explanation for this or I will ki-' She let her words drift away when she felt Sasuke's thumb brushed lightly against her back.
He stared at it for a long time, looking at all the scars scattered on her back. Some were long slashes, slightly darker than her skin colour, others were large bruises that were slightly purple, some were smaller and thinner, crooked even, and darker. He gently push on her bruise and did not miss her recoil to his touch. Still silent, he examined her back in more details, in search for a particular scar.
It was a thin grey line, that was nothing compared to the others due to its littleness that camouflage itself, located just beside her spine. At first glance, it was nothing compared to the more horrifying scars on her back, but Sasuke knew the story behind it, and it made him angry and frustrated. Both at the person who put the wound there, and at himself. He could feel her pain and agony and suffering of being pierced by the scrutinizing sharp sword, and undeniably knew that she did not scream in pain, but kept it to herself. She didn’t want to show weakness, she never want to show weakness, not in front of the enemy, not in front of her family, or Kakashi or Naruto, and especially not in front of him.
He stared at it guiltily and was unsure of what to say…so instead, he lowered his head, and kissed the tiny scar.
She jolted at the queer, unusual touch, and flushed with embarrassment when she realized that it was the raven headed’s lips.
'Sasuke-ku-' She tried to speak.
'I'm sorry,' He wrapped both his arms around her protectively and placed his head on her shoulders. 'I'm sorry.' His voice was shaky
Her emerald eyes widened with shock and wanted to ask him the reason behind his apology, but deep inside, she knew and understand the loneliness and unnecessary guilt that the broken Uchiha harbored. There was a moment of silent before she let her lips curve up and let her hand held on to the tightly wrapped knuckles in front of her.
This took me a while, I didn’t know how to phrase the description, it was well planned in my head though…..The manga is so boring right now so I wanted to write this fanfic to brighten and ignite that SasuSaku Shipper’s hope.
Hope you like it :)
